Notice to Clients:

Please keep in mind that any phone calls you make or receive at the jail are subject to being recorded.  The contents can be used against you in Court.  Further, any mail you send or receive at the jail, unless its mail to or from your attorney, can be screened by jail personnel and the contents can be used against you.  Finally, the Chirps you send and receive are also documented by jail staff and can be printed and used against you in Court.  Please act appropriately.

It is extremely important that you fill out the bright colored Client information sheet that you received with your Public Defender Information envelope and return it to our office.  We have to know how to contact you about your case.  We are also required to gather some information to determine if you qualify for a Public Defender.  We do share that financial information with the Court.  The back side of the colored sheet is information which is not shared with the Court or the State’s Attorney and is only shared with your attorney.

We will not talk to your family members or other individuals about your case unless you give us written permission to do so.  There is a place on the colored sheet to write the names of those individuals you wish for us to share information with.  Keep in mind, just because we have permission to speak with your designee, it does not mean we are required to do so, however, we will try to accommodate them.

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT US BEFORE YOUR COURT DATE. WE DO NOT CALL EVERY CLIENT BEFORE THEIR COURT DATE. THAT IS SOMETHING THAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR. IT IS THE CLIENT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO STAY IN CONTACT WITH OUR OFFICE.
