The GIS Manager/Plat officer duties include some of the following:

Approve legal descriptions on all deeds before recording in the Recorder of Deeds Office

Review all plats, prior to recording, to ensure they have the required information to comply with the State Plat Act and County Subdivision Code

Handle the parcel maintenance on changes on the GIS system with the goal of moving all GlS work completely in house

Work to develop and maintain municipal boundaries, fire districts, school districts and all other taxing district boundaries and maps

Ensure the timely implementation of GlS-related projects

Assist in the development and management of GIS project plans including defining requirements, tasks, and resource assignments, ensuring that approved quality levels and deadlines are met

Maintain expertise in GIS-related software and technologies

Handling issuing of County Building Permits

Serve as Enterprise Zone Administrator

Serve as the Plat Officer for subdivision applications
