Wind and Solar Permit Info

The County Board chose not to adopt a solar ordinance for the county. See below for more information. The County Board did adopt a wind permit ordinance. See below for a copy of the ordinance and any information on companies that have applied.  

Solar Regulation Information

The County Board decided not to pursue a solar permit ordinance. As such, for unincorporated Macoupin County, state law are the only regulations. Any questions on solar regulations in the unincorporated parts of the county, please contact the State’s Attorney’s office. Please contact City and Village Clerks for information regarding permits inside city or village limits. For questions on property taxes, please contact the Supervisor of Assessments office.
