County Seeks Bids for Demolition of 2 Buildings

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Macoupin County, Illinois will receive sealed bids for:
Demolition and Backfill of the two Former Residential Structures at 239 East First South Street and 227
East First North Streets in Carlinville for Macoupin County, Carlinville, Illinois
Bids shall be delivered in a sealed bid envelope to the Macoupin County Clerk – Election Offices,
227 East First South Street, Carlinville, Illinois 62626, prior to 2:00 p.m. prevailing time, September
2, 2026. Pre-Bid meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 26 at 10:00 a.m. prevailing time at the
Project Site Meeting will begin at 239 East First South Street, Carlinville, Illinois (former private residence).
All Bidders are requested to attend this meeting to participate in a walk through of the Project Site.
Bids shall include:
1. Properly completed Proposal Form in duplicate.
2. Bid Deposit in the amount of 5% of the Base Bid.
3. Not less than the prevailing hourly wage rate as determined by the Illinois
Department of Labor pursuant to Illinois Revised Statutes, Ch. 489, Sec.39s-1 et.
seq.
Bid Documents are available for viewing and download at www.mmlpplanroom.com on website. Hard
copies of bid documents will be available at Macoupin County with prior arrangement.
All Bidders are advised that all work of this Contract shall be subject to the provisions of the “Illinois
Prevailing Wage Act.” Prevailing wage rates have been determined and are on file at the Office of the
State of Illinois Department of Labor, telephone (217) 782-6206 or on the website
(http://www.state.il.us/Agency/IDOL/rates/EVENMO/MACOUPIN.htm).
All Bidders shall submit and enclose with their bid a notarized certification that the Contractor is not barred
from bidding on the Contract as a result of a violation of either Section 33 E-3 or 33 E-4 of Article 33E,
Public Act 85-1295 (Senate Bill 2002) effective January 1, 1989. Certification is located in the Proposal
Form, Section 00300, of the Project Manual.
During the performance of this contract, the Contract shall not discriminate against any employee or
applicant for employment on the basis of race color, creed, national origin, gender, age or any other basis
in violation of any applicable law, rule, regulation or ordinance, and shall otherwise perform in accordance
with all such laws, rules, regulations and ordinances.
Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond, bank draft, certified check or cashier’s check in the amount of
five percent (5%) of the Base Bid, made payable to Macoupin County. Failure of Bidders to submit bid
bond, certified check or cashier’s check in amount to cover proposals bid upon is cause for rejection of
bid.
Successful Bidder will be required to provide Surety Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment
Bond, each equal to 100% of the Contract cost on prescribed forms within ten (10) days after notice of
acceptance is issued by Owner. Surety on bond shall be by duly authorized company acceptable to
Owner.
Macoupin County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and reserves the right to waive any irregularity
in bidding, which in their considered opinion is warranted. No bid shall be withdrawn for Sixty (60) days
after opening of bids without written consent of the Owner.
